Starring: Neil Young
Directed by: Jonathan Demme (“Neil Young: Heart of Gold”)

Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Demme (“The Silence of the Lambs”) has been down this road a couple of times before. In 2006, he followed the Canadian singer/songwriter during a two-night performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium in the inspired film “Neil Young: Heart of Gold.” Then in 2010, Demme captured more of Young’s acoustic rock side in the less-seen albeit equally-entertaining doc “Neil Young Trunk Show.” Wrapping up his trilogy with “Neil Young Journeys,” Demme travels with the timeless performer in May 2011 to Massey Hall in downtown Toronto where he puts on another concert for the ages. It’s an enjoyable 90-minute trip into one man’s passion for music that will make fans of his songs realize just how talented he really is. If you’re a Neil Young fan, “Journey” is not to be missed. For those who are new to his music and need more convincing, the doc will make you believe music can still be an intimate experience.
